A new Xbox One modchip called Coldforest, based on the Bliss exploit, has been detailed on se7ensins. Developed by Venator38, it offers root SoC access, dual-MCU system, and open-source hardware/software. It allows NAND flashing over WiFi, remote control, and custom firmware deployment. Development is ongoing and secretive, with future plans for a public repository and community access to hardware designs.

Security expert Markus Gaasedelen reveals that the Xbox One, despite its "unhackable" reputation, had a critical vulnerability in its early 2013 models due to a disabled anti-glitch protection on the Durango SoC. Later models are much harder to exploit.
