Ad links and how Modda makes money
Which links earn Modda a commission, how they are marked and what it means for you.
What is an ad link?
Modda.se is run by Moonbranch AB (reg. no. 556842-1605). Part of our income comes from ad links: links to shops where Modda earns a commission from the shop if you buy through the link. It costs you nothing extra.
Every such link is marked "Ad link" right next to it. Links without the mark earn Modda nothing.
Where are ad links?
Shop links in deals, on product pages, store pages, in guides, news and the forum go through Modda's own redirect. If the shop is part of an affiliate program Modda has joined, you are sent on through that program and the link is marked as an ad link.
This also applies to links members write in the forum and in guides. Modda converts them automatically. The member who wrote the post receives no payment from the shop.
Does commission affect what we show?
No. Whether a link earns a commission does not affect which deals we show or in what order. Deals are sorted by what you choose: newest, hottest (votes, clicks and age), biggest discount, lowest price or ending soon.
No shop pays to appear on Modda. Ads from ad networks are shown separately and marked "Ad".
Affiliate programs we currently use
Ad links currently go through these programs:
- AliExpress Portals (AliExpress)
Modda Coins for purchases
Purchases through ad links can earn Modda Coins. Coins are only awarded once the shop has confirmed the purchase, and clicks on their own earn nothing.
- +50 coins for purchases up to 500 SEK
- +100 coins for purchases 501–1000 SEK
- +150 coins for purchases 1001–2500 SEK
- +200 coins for purchases over 2500 SEK
Cookies and click statistics
When you click an ad link, the affiliate program and the shop may set cookies on their own websites to credit the purchase to Modda. Modda sets no cookies on the click.
We store every click on a shop link (time, shop, where the link was, browser, a hashed IP address and your account if you are signed in) for statistics, abuse prevention and commission reconciliation.

Does it cost me anything extra?
No. You pay the same price as if you went straight to the shop.
How do I know a link is an ad link?
It is marked "Ad link" right next to the link or button. The mark links to this page.
Do I earn coins when I click?
No. Clicks on shop links earn no coins. Purchase rewards only apply where explicitly offered and after the purchase has been confirmed.
