Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-20

This policy describes how Modda.se uses cookies and similar technologies.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the website remember information about your visit.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

These cookies are required for the website to function and cannot be turned off.

  • Login session and authentication
  • Security against CSRF attacks
  • Your cookie consent
  • Your language preference

Visit statistics (no cookies)

We count visits with Umami, which we run on our own server in Sweden. Umami sets no cookies and stores no IP address. We see:

  • Which pages are visited
  • Where visitors come from
  • Approximate country, browser, operating system and screen size

Umami uses no cookies. We list it here to be open about how we count visits. The privacy policy has the details.

Functional Cookies

These cookies save your preferences for a better experience.

  • Light/dark theme
  • Filter settings and sorting

Advertising Cookies

Modda.se is funded in part by ads served through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your prior visits to Modda.se and other websites.

  • Tailor ads to your interests
  • Limit how often you see the same ad
  • Measure ad performance and prevent fraud

You can turn off personalized ads in Google Ad Settings (g.co/adsettings) or via youronlinechoices.eu. In the EEA, advertising cookies are only used after you give consent in our consent dialog (CMP).

3. Third-Party Cookies

We use limited third-party services. When you click an ad link, the affiliate program and the shop may set cookies on their own websites to credit the purchase to Modda. Modda sets no cookies on the click.

Affiliate programs: Adtraction, Awin, TradeDoubler, Amazon Associates, AliExpress Portals

4. Managing Cookies

You can manage cookies in several ways:

  • Via the advertising consent dialog (CMP) shown on your first visit — you can change or withdraw your consent to advertising cookies there at any time
  • Via your browser settings
  • Via your account settings (for logged-in users)

Note that if you block essential cookies, the website may not function properly.

5. Policy Changes

We may update this policy as needed. Material changes will be notified via the website.
