ModMii Simplifies Wii and Wii U Softmodding

For those of you still looking to breathe new life into your old Wii or Wii U by modifying it, ModMii now makes the process significantly easier. This Windows-only program can download all the necessary files and generate custom guides based on your console's specifications.

ModMii handles everything from installing USB loaders to creating emulated NANDs, and was an early supporter of the popular d2x cIOS. Even if your SD card reader is broken or you don't have an SD card, ModMii can often help by using a FAT32 formatted hard drive instead. However, for more advanced features like Bootmii and NAND backup, an SD card is still required. For users without access to a Windows PC, or if ModMii isn't an option, wii.hacks.guide and wiiu.hacks.guide are also available.

The program has recently been updated with support for the Wii U and its vWii mode, making it a comprehensive tool for modifying Nintendo's game consoles. ModMii offers a multitude of features, including the ability to update existing homebrew software, safely downgrade the system menu to avoid bricking effects, and perform region changes.
