Warning
Wiping data in recovery erases everything on the device. Always back up the boot partition before writing anything in flash mode, and never write to uboot.
Introduction
Recovery mode lets you factory-reset a misbehaving Storytel Reader. Flash mode (Rockchip rockusb, called "maskrom" in the community project) lets you back up and restore the device's partitions from a computer. The steps cover both generations: micro-USB for generation 1 and USB-C for generation 2. They are based on StorytelReaderMods and Modda's own tests.
StepsStep 1 of 8
Step 1: Identify your generation
Look at the USB port. Micro-USB means generation 1 (2018), and USB-C means generation 2 (from October 2020). The recovery steps differ between them.
