Score AMD Ryzen CPUs Cheaply: Chinese Prices on AliExpress Beat Swedish Records

17 juni 2026

Swedish tech enthusiasts have discovered the secret to extremely cheap AMD Ryzen processors: AliExpress. During the autumn and winter of 2025–2026, members on the Sweclockers forum reported processors like the 7800X3D and 9800X3D at prices far below what was previously possible in Sweden. Often, these were so-called 'tray' processors, meaning they were sold without a box and cooler, but at a significantly lower cost.

The dedicated thread on the Sweclockers forum, "Tråden om AMD-processorer ifrån AliExpress," became the hub where users shared their discoveries. Activity peaked around Singles Day (11.11) and Black Friday, continuing through winter sales and further promotions in spring 2026. The lowest prices, which included Swedish VAT and EU shipping, were recorded at around 2,400 SEK for a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and approximately 3,600 SEK for a Ryzen 9 9800X3D.

The key to these low prices was a combination of seller discount codes and a clever payment method using Klarna. By selecting Klarna as the payment option, buyers could often secure an additional direct discount of 293–300 SEK. This trick, requiring some trial-and-error and sometimes involving adding extra items to meet coupon thresholds, quickly gained popularity. Some buyers also used multiple accounts to leverage Klarna discounts multiple times.

The most prominent seller was "EUCPU DIY Store," registered in France and shipping from various EU warehouses. This store, also known as "PCDIY" or "the French store," received much positive feedback for its genuine processors. Many users verified authenticity via AMD's systems and reported normal performance tests and stable undervolting. Delivery times were typically 1–2 weeks, though occasional delays occurred due to high volume and issues with PostNord as the final Swedish courier.

It's important to note that these were 'tray' units, lacking original packaging and coolers. While standard AMD 'boxed' warranty was absent, purchases within the EU were covered by Swedish and European consumer law (reklamationsrätt). Klarna was often used as buyer protection, with invoices not needing payment until the processor was received and verified.
